Everyone in class was able to make their body and will be ready to stuff on next Thursday. We even had a few dolls already stuffed and skin painted show up! What a treat to see dolls that are well on their way.
Gail's patterns for this doll makes for a nicely shaped lady like torso.

My original cloth fashion doll was made at a retreat to learn how to paint in oils, so it is a little different from the pattern available now. My version has painted on hair while the pattern has instructions for a mohair wig. The mohair is available separately and comes in several colors.
Since this is a fashion doll, she will have a bonnet with a hat box. We've also been exploring the idea of making a parasol. There are tutorials from others online on how to easily make a parasol.

Thanks Ladies. We are having wonderful time choosing fabrics and trims while making the bonnet and hat box in class. This is a very nice pattern.
ReplyDeleteYour dolls are really lovely! I've just recently started making cloth dolls. Since we don't seem to have any cloth doll making (exept for Waldorf dolls) I have searched the net quite a lot to get ideas and inspiration. I've also bought a book by M Gourley and some other doll artists.
